In just the last few days, my 2 year old rescue Aussie has bitten 3 times. We have had him more than a year and he has gotten very protective of family members, especially my 24 year-old developmentally disabled son. A few days ago, my daughter and her boyfriend were goofing around and Carver bit him on the face. Yesterday, I was out of the room a few minutes and when I returned, Carver had bitten my 10 year-old grandson on the chest and had jumped up and scratched or bit my 8 year-old granddaughter on the face. There have been several other minor similar incidents with strangers prior to this.
I don't want to give him up but I certainly can't have him around if he is going to bite people at the slightest provocation. I tried a muzzle and he freaked out. I have no idea where to head with some kind of training and don't feel very comfortable that I can ever trust him 100%. Any ideas? Need some suggestions very soon or he will have to go back to the rescue lady.
I'll check some of the comments below and see if there are suggestions to this problem. Thanks!
