We just got our Australian Shepherd, and neither my boyfriend nor myself are able to leave work in the middle of the day to visit her, not at least for a few weeks. We live in an apartment complex that uses electronic keys and can't make copies of them, so I can't hire a dog sitter or anything to visit her during the day.
She's very sensitive to being alone, as right now we can be gone maybe 30-60 seconds before she starts crying. It's heartbreaking and though I've had her barely three days, I'm head over heels for her.
Is there any way I can alleviate her stress during the long work day when she won't have any social interactions? (So just FYI, she's being trained to use potty pads for a while since we live in an extremely urban area, but we'll be moving to a suburb in about 2.5 weeks where she'll have a nice yard to run around in.)
Thanks, everybody! I just want my baby to be happy and feel safe! (T-T)
