Australian Shepherd In The Heat

Hi there :) What can you guys tell me about Australian Shepherds in a hot environment? We live in the South African bushveld where summers are hot. I have found a South African Aussie breeder but now I am wondering - what are your experiences with Aussies in hot conditions? Do they adapt easily, with a thinner undercoat for example?

The puppy would come from Joburg where it can also get hot - because of the heat here I'm not looking at a pup from Cape Town as the difference is massive. Totally different climate!
