Can You Help With What to Do About Aussie Separation Anxiety?

by James Alexander
(Houston, TX)

We adopted a female Miniature Australian Shepherd about eight months ago. She is three and all we know is that she lived outdoors on an acreage at a breeding farm.

She is very nervous and her separation anxiety includes not going out to potty unless I go too. She is good with our other Aussie but not other dogs. I let her sleep in my room and stay with me during the day. She tends to hide behind the sofa. It all seems worse since she was spayed six months ago.

Any suggestions on how to reduce her separation anxiety?
