Confused About Raising An Australian Shepherd

We have a 2-3 month old Aussie named Koda. He was scared and gentle when we first got him but has opened up to us for about a week now and we might have some experiences that needs help.

We bought him pee pads but he avoids them and does his business around the house. When playing he starts biting on our hands and ankles and when we tell him no he just growls and barks.

We also have a 7 year old Sharpei and need them to get along but his attitude might not impress our other dog.

I might not know exactly how to raise him but I would like some tips and ideas on how what we need and how exactly should we discipline if it's needed.
