Eating Grass And Greens. What About Barley Grass?

by Wrangler's mom

My 2 1/2 year old mini Aussie frequently nibbles on the tender tips of grass and other specific weeds. She will also occasionally gobble the decaying thatch that underlies mown grass (the more decayed, the better!); and, she chows down on rabbit droppings when found (also grass-based).

I feel she does it because she is lacking something in her diet. There was a short discussion on this site some time ago about dogs grazing on grass, seemingly not for digestive purging. I read something about introducing barley grass powder to a dog's diet to supply missing chlorophyll. Does anyone have any experience with barley powder or any thoughts on this issue?
