I have an Aussie pup that is 5 months old and is losing his hair on his trunk. It started around his neck by where his collar would be then progressed to now being on his stomach, the back and inside of his hind legs, on his trunk behind his front legs. He was the runt of the litter and has no fur loss on his head or any of his legs from the knees (?) down to his feet. We did not notice any hair loss until the last 2 months.
I have taken him to two different vets and they even contacted a vet dermatologist at the state vet college. They have no ideas, there is no evidence of fleas, lice, etc. There are no red spots/patches. He does not appear to bite/scratch at any areas excessively. We have ran blood tests and they came back within normal limits. We have tried changing his food 3 different times with no change in the hair loss to rule out allergy.
Help! Any ideas???
