How To Get Aussie's Coat To Grow Back

About a year ago we took my Aussie for his regular trimming at the groomer, but instead they ended up shaving him down.

His hair has been growing back in patches and is rough and looks horrible.

I was wondering if this had happened to any of you and if/how it got better?

Thanks!!

-I know that you should never shave an Aussie... is was a mistake made by the groomer.
