How To Introduce Older Cat And 7 Week Old Aussie Pup?

Hi there everyone. In two weeks I'll be bringing home my new pup. I have an older male cat who I'm a little concerned about. How should I go about properly introducing the two so that they get along and hopefully I won't have to separate the two when the pup gets bigger. All responses are appreciated!
