We have a six year old male Australian Shepherd and his playmate (a Border Collie Mixed female, both neutered), often run off for 5 to 24 hours. We had thought they were not straying far from our 50 acres, but recently bought a tracking device and were amazed to see that one night and part of a day they covered 50 miles! This is our first Aussie and we knew they like to run, but had no idea of the range. We are seniors and although we cut firewood, bush hog and garden, I'm sure our boy would like more to do. Are we being cruel to him by not providing enough to do? Suggestions most welcome.
