Taking care of two lovely 6-month-old Aussies while their young (9 and 12) owners are away with Mom and Dad for two weeks. They run on their 80 acre farm and have learned "sit-paw-down" for treats but otherwise have no manners. They've knocked down the gate which keeps them out of the main house - I'm afraid they will chew the house down before they come home so ordered crates (with covers) for night time.
Any quick tips on crate training? Mom was "planning" on getting around to it so I figured it is a safe bet for my own sanity to start now. Thinking to (quickly) work up to overnight with a chew rope and a frozen stuffed Kong and would like to teach them to crate themselves. My own Standard Poodles and Pound Puppies were never this challenging.
Thank you all, you experienced Aussie folks.
