Mismark

Hi, I'm beginner in breeding but I have a question about mismark colour. A male red merle has puppies with red tri bitch - there are 8 puppies but 3 are mismarks with different amount of white on the head but mismarks.

So my question is how to analyze pedigree to avoid this colour again in litters? Why so many puppies in this litter has that colour if this is not merle to merle breeding?
