My Australian Shepherd Is Wary of Strangers and Is Nipping!

My Australian Shepherd is about one and a half, and I've had her since she was seven weeks. I spent a lot of time socializingher, and she's been around a lot of different people.

She gets very territorial and nervous around strangers, mostly just at the house or her spaces, but it's difficult to get her to calm down. She even has a hard time with people who have come over many times and it seems to have gotten worse as she got older. Sometimes she will even growl at people when we are at a park or somewhere public that isn't her space.

I know this is pretty typical of the breed, but sometimes she nips at people when she's uncomfortable. She's never broken skin or really bitten, but she scares people.

Any tips on how to train for this? I did put a sign on our front door asking people to give her treats when they come in, and it seems to help for a minute but she'll go back to growling after.
