My Australian Shepherd Won't Take Her Medicine or Food

My 15-year-old female, Australian Shepherd has been diagnosed with liver diseaseand has a ton of meds to take.

She won't eat cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc. or any goodie with meds in it. She's now ignoring her regular food. She is so hungry (will eat all MY food), but starving to death.

Just some ideas

There are some things you could try.

For the meds, try putting it in to little marble sized lumps of ground beef. Feed a couple without meds. Hopefully she is swallowing it whole. Then give the one with the med.

For meals, can you fix homemade meals? Use whatever meat she will eat - either raw or lightly cooked and then shredded in a food processor- and add to it some soft cooked vegetables - sweet potatoes are good. You can also add a very small amount of cooked oatmeal. Canned sardines (canned in water, not oil) are popular with dogs and are very nutritious. Also hard boiled eggs -mainly the yolk part, mashed. You can buy a multiple vitamin/mineral supplement to add, but use just a little of it and don't add any of it until she is regularly eating the food you made.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. She is a chewer unfortunately so she catches on quick and I have to keep switching foods. I am really hating the grocery store. I am going to try the meat balls and the sweet potatoes. Will let you know. Thanks again.
