3 years ago my Aussie Sophia Maria, my husband & I decided that she needed a sister. So we looked at Petfinders right way, and there she was looking right back at us. We could hardly sleep that night. Early the next morning I started the 200 mile round trip to the shelter where she was. Those blue eyes were just as sparkly in real life. So my new blue merle "Sophie" & I headed for home so she could meet my red merle Sophia Maria.
They have been so bonded from the first day, that they look for each other all the time. They play (chase, tag and tugawar), sing, sleep, and even eat from the same dish. They have a order to where they ride in the car, who's first that day when they get their 7 daily vitamins, and they groom each other. The only thing was having 2 Aussies with the same name...
So now Sophie (the blue merle) is now Beatrice, which came from starting to call her sophie B. They both would still come, so my sister said try Beatrice, and it stuck. I always say it with a kind of song to it and she loves to hear me call her and comes right then (not that she's not velcro anyway!!!)
The red just turned 8, and the blue will be 9 next month. They make our lives so much better, and I know that they have a good healthy life. What more could you ask for????
