When Sam was just 9 weeks old we saw him at a local pet store. We were 6 months from buying our home and I could not afford him at the time. My boys, all 3 of them are avid dog lovers as well as myself and were heart broken that we could not take him home. That following May we ventured back into the pet store, the same one we were looking before. When the boys and I got there, there was a Border Collie standing up on his hind legs and just so happy to see us. I asked the clerk how long the collie been there because he was an older pup and she stated that he was not a Border Collie, but an Australian Shepherd. You see? I could not tell that he did or did not have a tail. The clerk also told me that he was 5 months old and no one wanted him. I asked if he were the same one that was there last December and she stated, with sad look on her face,"yes, but can't sell him for some reason". Well needless to say we took him into the playroom and he was so loving and gentle with my boys that clerk sold him to me for half price and he has a been nothing but a bundle of joy to us and ALL who meet him! He is honestly BY FAR the best dog I have ever owned in every way. My oldest son is now living in FL and going to College, without Sam as I had to relocate to SC for work. He is begging for another Australian Shepherd because he he misses Sam sooo....much! So now we are starting a puppy fund for Anthony, my son, so he can have an Australian Shepherd to come home to. He truly misses Sam and loves him. He is with me and still loving and caring as ever, but I know he misses Anthony too. :o(. That is our story. Now, enjoy the pictures.
