Questions From A New Mini Aussie Owner

Hello everyone! I have been with my first Mini Aussie pup ever the last 5 weeks and I think things are going great for his age (just about 4 months). I did have a few questions if anyone has tips.

First, the leash. He will not drop it and overall this seems like a puppy thing, but no matter how many times he drops it and I delay and then click and give him a treat, he just picks it back up. I am starting to worry that I might be reinforcing the grabbing of the leash.

Second, he whines when he is in my room...all the time and I am in here with him! He doesn't need to potty, I've picked up on when he needs that, but I cannot understand why he hates my room.

A few random ones: When did everyone stop feeding their Aussie's three times a day and at about what age where your Aussie's sleeping 6-7 hours "through the night?"
