Recall Problems

Hi all! I own a beautiful 6 month old male Aussie. He is an absolute dream to train and already reliably does more than 20 different tricks! He doesn't roam very far when I let him off his lead and whenever there's another dog approaching (before he's playing) he will come back to my recall and then I allow him to go play (if safe).

However, when I walk him with my friends dog he will not listen to a word I say! He just continuously runs around chasing her. As she is a lurcher and she is very energetic and I think he likes this because he completely ignores everything I say! I do have him on a training line when he's on his own as he's still very young. But impossible to put it on him when he's with this dog they keep getting tangled!

Am I just expecting a little bit too much from my 6 month old at the moment?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated and I will try out ASAP. Thank you!!
