My 22-month-old female Australian Shepherd (Mabel) loves to play with other dogs! Oh boy does she! I’d like to get her a brother or sister to play with and have as a dog companion! And I also would love another Aussie!
I love my girl so much, she is my whole world! I can’t wait to have another. So here is my dilemma, Mabel is the example of a Velcro-Ausssie! She loves me (her momma) so much and protects me. She even has a hard time letting me pet another dog by blocking the dog from getting to me. She is not aggressive but she makes it known I’m her human! We’ve been practicing letting me pet other dogs and it’s going well. She just gets so jealous!
I’m am worried she will get her feelings hurt if we get a new pup and I’m sharing attention. I fear she won’t want to share me!
Any tips for advice for how to deal with this and if I should get another pup! Right now I’m looking at a 6-month-old male. I do not want to breed!
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
