Sooky was a red merle Aussie who came into our lives one week after one of our dogs suddenly passed away. In Australian outback slang, sooky means soft or sensitive and the name fit our girl perfectly. Because of her unique coloring and amazingly sweet personality, she stopped traffic everywhere she went. Sooky loved obedience training and by the time she was 1, she had earned 5 obedience related titles including her therapy dog certification. When she was 13 months, Sooky was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and given only a few short months to live. However, she beat all odds and lived another 1 year and 8 months. She led a pretty normal life until the end, playing with her mom Nellie, sister Sera and niece Molly. She loved to swim and play frisbee. Although her show career was cut short, Sooky continued to serve as a therapy dog until the end. Sooky made hundreds of friends in her very short life and everyday she was with us was a treasure. We will always love you, Sooky Dooky Bunny Rabbit.
