The best companion dog ever. The reason we will have another Aussie. We miss her so much, she was the smartest and most giving dog we have ever had.

I understand completely. I got my first Aussie in December 2008. Carly was a black tri mini Aussie. She was extremely active and so much fun. On September 8, 2009 I put her to bed at 9:00 p.m. At 11:00n p.m. my husband woke me saying that Carly was sick. She had pooped in her kennel, which she NEVER did, and it was bloody. I had to literally pull her out of the kennel. We rushed her to an emergency pet clinic. They diagnosed intestinal hemorrhage. At first they felt she had a 50/50 chance. But within the first 30 minutes they had dropped her chances to 30% or less. At 2:08 a.m. on September 9 we had her put to sleep. We stayed with her every minute. She died one week before her first birthday. I was devastated.

At first I didn't want to even think of another dog. But I did know that in time I wanted another Aussie. A month or two later, I decided that I would start checking out Aussie breeders in our area and find one I could work with, maybe get a puppy in January. I found one a few hours away and she had a black tri mini. This lady was so nice and so open. She invited us to come up any time and see the puppies. She had six from one litter and four from another two weeks younger.

We went to see them already set on the black tri. When we got there we spent three hours with the family!!! They were wonderful people and never made us feel uncomfortable for one minute. We decided on a beautiful female mini blue-eyed blue merle!! Three weeks later we brought home Bailee. At Thanksgiving the breeder kept Bailee while we visited our grandkids in OKC (They are 6 and 4 and afraid of dogs.) When we came back to get Bailee she still had two of the second litter. One was a female toy black tri - whom we fell in love with. So now we have Baliee and Maggie - half sisters two weeks apart. They are pure joy!!!

Sorry for the long post - but I hope you will get another Aussie soon!
