I've seen quite a variety of coat lengths on Aussies. Mine started out short dense & quite kinky, now at 3yrs, long, silky & less dense. Whatever he is, I'm sure he deserves better than 'mutt'. A picture would help.

Short hair

I have a six month old aussie. So far the hair isn't long but I need to wait and see. She is a beautiful black tri and I wouldn't trade her for anything.
