Will My Australian Shepherd Herd at Home?

I have an Australian Shepherd puppy, and will be training him to be a herding dog. I found a farm close by me that trains dogs to be herding dogs, however, we will not be going to the farm every day, but only once a week.

Would this be a problem for him when he is home? Should I not train him to be a herding dog?

We will have a farm of our own in a couple of years and we are thinking of getting sheep.

In the mean time, I don't want my dog herding people in the house.
